Either one is going to be a HUGE money pit - they are 22yo, probably horribly abused and neglected Saabs. But good fun none-the-less. Biggest money pit I have ever owned was an 85 900T that I owned around the turn of the century. One-owner, full service history, had something like $8K in repair reciepts in the previous several years. Utterly pampered. it still put me in the poorhouse. I loved driving it though. :-)
One thing to watch out for in 85 & 86 is crumbling wire insulation under the hood, but I have to think most of the affected cars have been repaired by now. That cost thousands to have the wiring harness replaced on my 85.
My opinion is you are better off spending more money and buying a GOOD example. Of these two - the running car alwasys wins. Who cares what the odometer says - it's TWENTY-TWO years old! Condition matters, not mileage.
