Yes, the 205's are a bit oversized. 185 is standard and 195 optional on my car. I had just bought the 205's on a 9000cs I had. I like the 3-spoke 9000 wheels better than the directional 900T wheel, so I bolted them on and it looks great with the wheel and fatter tire combination.
As to scraping, very occaisionally when I hit a bump one of the rear tires will touch the plastic body molding. Hasn't even left a mark on either the tire or the molding. I'm going to grind the molding back a touch and that should take care of it.
Does it handle any better? I can't say that it does. I suppose pushed to the limit the wider tire is going to provide more grip, but how often will I drive like that?! c900's handle pretty well for a sport sedan anyway!
It's all in what you like on your car.
