usually the opposite is true, pedal will go to the floor without resistance.
silly questions but have to ask, is the clutch pedal as far off the floor as the brake pedal? is anything stuck on the floor that is preventing the clutch pedal from moving? (I find more tools that way!) Will the brake pedal move properly? If you put the car in gear (with the motor off) and then you try to crank does the car lurch, aka jump?
Any chance of massive rust at the pedal assembly?
