Hi, I would consider doing the following.
check the oil. purchase more oil and an oil filter for an oil change.
check all fluids and top as needed.
pull the plugs, squirt your favorite oil into each cylinder, pb blaster, wd 40, that kind.
remove the fuse for the fuel pump.
crank and listen for odd noises.
replace the fuel fuse
replace the spark plugs
check the cap and rotor for fitness, replace or clean as needed
make sure you change the air filter
start and listen at idle for how it sounds.
let it idle and come up to temperature, about 10 minutes. you may hear a terrible clacking under the valve cover, it's the hydraulic lifters needing to pump up with oil, it should lessen with time as one by one they get happy. once in a while one or two will be unhappy for 15-20 or more, just pay attention as it should get better to the point of noise going away...
stop the car and change the oil and filter.
restart and idle for 10 minutes or so checking for leaks from anywhere. If you had a clacking noise before... it should stop by 15 minutes of idle at this point.
repair leaks as needed...
carefully drive off as slow speeds, apply brakes several times to 1) make sure they are working and 2) buff off the rust that is surely there.
shift through all the gears but stay at a slow speed, basically excerise everything at a slow speed, drive home and again let it idle, the fans should want to come on, watch the temp gauge, fans should cycle.
shut down, let it cool, check all fluids, roll car back and check for leaks.
enjoy your new car!
