It's easy to switch the hoses that feed heater core on the firewall side to a mistaken configuration. I can't recall which way they go but Bentley could say and I recall various posts regarding same here so a search may help. Given that this has occurred on first start post HG that would be my bet (assuming that you disconnected the hoses in the course of HG R&R and that you had not previously had heat issues).
