Hope the o ring replacement helps. just be sure that you get an o ring that will be coolant compatible. I fixed a number of units for an after-market saab shop in edmonton 13 years ago, after their mechanics tried removing the o ring by breaking the plastic retaining ring, and found that super glue/epoxy wouldn't hold for very long. My technique worked fine. Nary a problem (and cheap too!). If possible, get a slightly oversized inner diameter o ring, as that plunging rod tends to wear thinner over the years.
