we keep thinking we should get a 9-5 wagon, but the C900 just keeps going and the cost of a decent used 9-5 is more than 5 years maintenance on the C900... and a used 9-5 will start needing maintenance soon as well...
We've done just about everything on the c900 (several times over even). I keep good records. The complete purchase, maintenance (down to tires and light bulbs!), and replacement rental history amortized over our ownership is less than leasing a base model honda civic. Obviously buying a used honda is cheaper, but they rust out faster and the C900 so much more fun!
And, the big secret: because the c900 is worthless to our insurance company but ridiculously safe + hard to steal, it's dirt cheap to insure!
So it depends on your needs. If the c900 is unreliable + you can't work with it, a newer/leased car is a better bet. But it's almost always cheaper to fix vs buy new...
good luck!
James...
