and I've been watching it happen since the '60's. As it stands right now the really nice cars are bringing surprisingly good money, even in a recession. The nice cars (original, unrestored cars with typical nicks and chips & about 100K) are a bit down from a year or two ago because of the economic issues. The rags are about where they've been. The way it typically goes is that the rags disappear fairly fast because the value isn't there to restore them. As they are being used, more and more of the nice cars slip into the rag category. As more and more cars disappear, it suddenly reaches critical mass and people begin to realize these car are getting really hard to find. That's when values start going up significantly. They're never going to be like a Cobra. My guess is it will be a tragectery simular to a TR4/6 etc over the last 20 years. The only wild card is the economy--if we slip into a depression all bets are off.
