1) Is the CEL "flickering" or "Flashing" If it is flashing (equally spaced, repetitive on/off cycles), then it could be indicating a fault or or detected by the EZK ignition system.
The CEL will either be on, off, or flashing like that.
If the gas is bad enough, it could be possible that its octane rating has declined enough that the EZK cannot compensate enough. If that's the case, then yes, good gas will clear it.
If the flashes are uneven, but in a pattern, like 3-2-1-3, watch the pattern, write it down, and report back.
As for the clutch pedal, sound like two things at work: 1) something is amiss in the hydraulics, and 2) the pedal return spring could be disconnected or missing. Also, these pedals have a tendency to elongate the hole that the pin goes through to the master.
