Thank you for the info, but now you say you tightened the front band to prolong the life of the trans, and got 15,000 more miles. BEFORE you tightened the band was the trans showing signs of slipping or soft , or sluggish shifting or did you just decide to adjust front band before any signs of a problem occurred, and then got ONLY 15,000 miles more. If I knew the answer to this it may change my plans to adjust bands as the first gear shift seems soft and maybe close to signs of slipping, while the shift to the next gear is crisp and not soft.
