Unfortunately, Justin may have the answer. When I was working for a dealer in '74-5 we had a car brought in that had sucked water up through the air tube on the air filter. When it hit the cylinder and tried to compress it, the engine stopped. It put a nice S in the rod on that one cylinder.
We were immediately instructed to drill some holes in the intake tube, which was pointed down low behind the bottom of the radiator.
Have you tried draining the oil? Be prepared for lots of water in the sump.
