on looking for decent rebuilds for the original pre 88 front calipers make sure the weld spot along the groove where the caliper slides is intact and done properly.
when it comes to a rebuild the only components that can "fail" are the internal wear parts like the piston, o rings, seals and plugs and these are still being made or at least in the case of the pistons re-chromed. The ebrake mechanism doesn't so much "fail" as it does get gummed up and rusty
however the external components don't really "fail" or wear out except for where as I said the welded groove section is the contact point - and you need to look carefully at that before buying
