CEL - Test of O2 sensor showed 0-0.p5V (Replace?) Posted by Wil W [Email] (#1148) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Wil W) on Fri, 10 Jul 2009 13:38:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This is a follow-up to a previous question on my intermittent CEL. I pulled the codes yesterday and it did not have any fault codes other than RPM code as discussed in Bentley's. Several made suggestions to check O2 Sensor.
I tested the O2 sensor today after driving; started the car to check the O2 Sensor. The reading fluctuated between ~0.01 to ~0.43, is the fluctuation of ~0.5V correct or does it need to be 0.4-1.0V as discussed in Bently's? I saw a posting here that that the 0.5V fluctuation was what your looking for (Normally the ECU swings the mixture back and forth around stochiometric (0.5 volts))
I do not think the O2 sensor was replaced since I've owned it (50K miles, bought at 120K, now has 175K) by my mechanics. Recently I've started doing more of stuff myself the last few years.
If I should replace the 02 sensor, what is the approximate price range for the O2 sensor? Some posted $40 part and 30 min labor but the best price I've found is $68 delivered. Also is it difficult to unscrew from the exhaust pipe?
Thanks,
Wil W
