I had the upper cab housing rust out enough that the rubber bushing was dropping thru enough that the "bottle cap" washer was hitting the cab housing. I went to home depot and got a largish galvanized washer with a good diameter and a second somewhat smaller/thinner washer to more closely match the diameter of the shock shaft to reduce play. I had a pal weld the 2 washers together and then had him weld the "combo" washer into the body housing . I had to shape the rubber bushings a little but its worked out well.
When I have a full load in the car & trunk I too had some bottom out bump shock too- I went to autozone and bought those smallish(1~1.5 inch) rubber spring spacers- had to hack saw shorten & shape/file a detent/channel for the mating upper spring coil. GOOP glued only the bottom side into the spring coil - its not bottoming any more with a full load but it is stiffer over all bumps.
