They sell a package that includes the por 15 and two kinds of prep material - one is an organic degreaser that eats away grease on the surface the other one is an etcher. I have used both and believe you are better off using similar but cheaper materials. . For the degreaser household detergent or TSP will do. For the etcher any mild mild acid will do - anything from watered down muriatic acid to CLR to vinegar. Think about where you will dispose of it afterwards and go from there.

They also make a high heat version which I haven't tried. I have slapped some regular stuff on my tail pipes and it holds up well.
