The tranny filter is in the pan, but it is meant to be cleaned, and not necessarily replaced. Of course if the thing is clogged it might not be easy to clean it, but if it is that clogged it might be too late.
You will need a new gasket most likely. It is a soft rubber thing. You will also want to change the final drive (Differential) fluid. Most year's this is a different chamber.
What I did for my autobox was the multi change method. I drained the automatic fluid, I think 4 qt comes out, refilled with Type F, started up, shifted, and did the process again. I know otheres have researched the number of times that is optimal, but the fluid looked clean at 4 changes.
The diff fluid is the large drain plug that requires a hex wrench to turn. Remember not to tighten any more that is needed (snug, but not too snug) Again others have more exact details of what to use. There is lot's of discussion on the best diff fluid to use, I suggest using the fluid recommended by the Bentley Manual for your year.
If you don't have one, get a Bentley manual, it has the torque and the fluid needed. You will need the manual for almost any repair.
