And do you want a single oil for year-round use, or do you want "summer" & "winter" viscosity changes?
What I discovered on my '90 n/a (& others have found, as well), is that these engines really like oils with better high temperature/high shear resistance (HT/HS). Typically, the oils with better HT/HS are xW-40 & xW-50 wt oils. This is only identified on oils carrying the European ACEA oil rating system, & categorized (basically) as A3, A3/B3, & A3/B3/B4. (The US system of API/ILSAC has no HT/HS requirements.)
For my n/a engine, Mobil 1 0W-40 is probably the best year-round oil in my location (occasional dips below 0°F). For my 9³'s turbo, I prefer Mobil 1 5W-40 as it holds up better to the Saab turbo's abuse. If it never got below 30°F here, I'd probably only run Mobil 1 15W-50 in both cars. But that's me, & you have to decide how heavy of an oil you're comfortable running.
For shorter changes (5,000 mi?) my first choice for would be 0W-40 or 5W-40 for a year-round oil in your climate. After that, you could go with both Mobil 1 "High Mileage" 10W-30 or 10W-40, as they both carry the ACEA A3/B3 rating. The only advantage to either of these HM oils is price, while both the 0W/5W-40 oils will provide better cold flow.
I'd stay away from all additives. Syn oils are formulated so well already (especially Mobil 1) that you don't need to add anything to them. (Conventional oils that only meet API/ILSAC specs are a different matter.)
Also, the oils I'm listing will last at least 5,000 miles & will start to clean old crud out of the engine, so you might want to change your filter half-way thru your first one or two changes. If you want to really clean out the engine, look into Auto-Rx. I've had great success with it in all four of our Saabs (2 C900s & 2 9³s).
