10-30w or 10-40w . I have 2 Saab c900 and the 91s chatters when I start the engine and the 92t doesn't. I feel this is normal for some c900 Saabs. The important thing is that the chatter stops after warm-up. I use "Super Tech" brand (Wal-Mart) 10-30w high mileage oil in all of my 4 Saabs and 2 Volvo's. I change the oil after 3k along with a new oil filter. All these cars are approaching 200k and will go on until the engine are just too old to hold cylinder compression. Unless your running your car in a racing type mode, this brand oil has been working for year in my cars. I use to be a Valvoline and Castrol GTX oil user. When I read the label on most oil brands, they tend to show the same specifications. Oil is the life blood of your car and regular schedule changes will always be the best, single thing you can do. I thought about synthetic oils and the change schedule being longer but, what about the accumulate suspended partical in the oil of higher mileage oil changes? I'm sticking with the 3K oil change schedule. This has always proven great in my 30+ years of working on cars. Suspended particals are the grit that ruins engine internal parts. Right before you change your engines oil, try some additive like "Valve Medic" to assist in cutting the oil varnish that coats engine internal parts. This might help or just stay the same. Use this type product for 50-100 miles and then change the oil. Remember! Some Saab engines just chatter more than others before warm-up! Just like my two c900 Saabs.
