Derf and Saabnutt, thank you for responding to my questions concerning the heads for the Dodge 2.7L. I just found out that our Dodge 2.7L is another Intrepid horror story this afternoon. Briefly, the heads were disassembled and cleaned up, all new valve springs were installed including an intake valve in the port where the valve spring broke(middle cylinder on driver's side).
The exhaust valve let loose in the rear cylinder on the driver's side within 15 minutes of picking up the car. When our mechanic pulled the head off, there was no piston left in the cylinder.
Any thoughts on this one??
