Try tapping the motor with a hammer as your working the switch. That worked for me this past summer on my 88 900S in Alaska.
At would work for a day or two then stick again, I ended up replacing the motor.
I've done motor replacement from the stuck-in-the-up-place. buts it's no fun. It's a much easier job to replace motor if you can get the window down part way to get at all the hardware.
Also if your car is a four door you can swap the rear drivers side motor to the front window.
