I know it's not right, but here is what I've always done. I use my 150 lb. torque wrench, or any setup with about 20" of 1/2" lever (breaker bar, pipe, etc.). I weigh 195 lbs. I set up so that I can push down with my weight - push down toward the floor. Then I call it "good". Supposed to use new nut, but I've reused the nut once. If you can spin it on with your hand I would replace it. Hope this helps. You'll probably get some other options. Enjoy!
