Torque Wrench Front Axle Nuts Posted by Don [Email] (#1099) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Don) on Fri, 9 Apr 2010 07:52:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am in a bit of a bind finishing the replacement of the front wheel bearings, upper and lower ball joints and outer cv boots. For reassemble the front axle nuts are spec for 220 ft lbs. This all started with the diagnosis of one bad bearing then getting into the job and noticing other parts that were on borrowed time so I did the job right. The down side is my torque wrench only reads to 180 ft lbs. I don want to use my air impact on new bearings. Are there any other best practices that have worked. I lost my job in '09 and really have the budget to buy another torque wrench which I won't get much future use. Thanks.
