Sorry for the scatological subject heading, but it's an apt description...

I had my little sister push the brake pedal (by hand) while I looked underneath. It is squirting out in two directions from where the driver side brake line enters the pipe union (thanks for filling me in on the proper vocab) like a poorly threaded garden hose. It's not actually the line itself that's leaking. Also, the brake line wiggles where it goes into the pipe union, whereas the line on the other side does not. Do I need to replace the pipe union then, or is there supposed to be something there sealing the line and keeping it from wiggling?

The car is lifted where the normal jack goes for swapping spares, except I'm using a hydraulic jack because I don't trust the other thing. I've got cinder blocks under the axle about an inch from touching as a stop gap measure to keep the car from crushing my head if the jack decides to decompress. I might move those given what I now know. Fuel filter is good to go. Did that a few months ago. Also, good call on the Brakleen. I don't know why I didn't think of that, but it worked like a charm. Nothing is domed over with grease now. There's actual, shiny metal under there after all!
