Thanks for the suggestions regarding ECU and grounds. This car has run flawlessly and reliably in all weather for several years. When I first got it, it kept blowing ECU fuse 22, but then someone suggested going from 10amp to 15amp, and that problem stopped for good. Next, I fought vacuum leaks for awhile, and they ceased when I replaced all the vac hoses. I had 2 starting hiccups in the weeks before this current problem - once would not fire up when starting warm, and after I messed with the plug wires at the distributor, she fired right up. Next, it cold started and died once, then restarted just fine. On the third week, no start at all.
I bought the car at 96,000 miles 7 yrs ago, so I am hopeful a possible bad '89 ECU was replaced by one of the first 2 owners. I have kept on top of all maintenance.
I will look at grounds, but I am still trying to eliminate the pump as an issue. I see a clump of grounds near radiator drain, please locate the others I should inspect.
Again, do I have the ign switch ON or OFF for the fuse 27 to 30 jump ? Does that test get blocked by a bad pump relay at the ECU? I may be in the market for one of your used ECUs.
Thanks again.
