i went the master cylinder rout, new master will be here 2 morrow and seeing i haven't nothing much to do 2morrow ill get it installed.
and yes, i do not use the spg much, i get the opportunity to drive it 2 or 3 days every 2 to 3 months.
i had thought perhaps air was introduced, being the car was picked up from the indy for having a new wheel bearing installed.
car was dropped off with perfect brakes after picking up the car the pedal sank to the floor after stopping at the 2ed or 3rd red light.
immediately i thought oh heck a little c.v. grease must have got on the rotors, common mistake when in a rush to finish a wheel bearing.
so, cleaned the front rotors and while i was there re-bleed both front brakes.
when i pumped the brake pedal after bleeding the brake pedal was nice and stiff and at the moment i thought the problem was cured. soon as i started the car and drove out of the drive way the pedal once again sank to the floor. driving the car like this the pedal gets stiff about 2 inches before the pedals on the floor. i suppose this is when the rear brakes are grabbing to stop the car.
i don't have much time to tinker with the car anymore so i was forced to park the car and deal with the problem at a later date, and that later date just so happens to be now. from the car sitting for so long i can visually see the rust on the rotors. fronts are definitely not grabbing.
i have time this go around to replace the master cylinder, if this don't cure it ill have to rebuild the calipers in a few months.
anyhow I'm curious if the symptoms could be a failed master.
