I'm talking about the o-rings inside the slave.
To separate it, you push really hard where the throw out bearing sits, it will split into the inner/outer. You can get the o-rings off with a paper clip or something similar.
If you look real close, you'll see a seam that should run down the middle. I bet you you'll see the seam rotate to the inside and then back to the outside. The twist make a high and low spot that will make them fail quicker. I have no idea how they get twisted, maybe the machine rolls them into place instead of sliding them in. All I know is that I have premature failures, started checking the slave, noticed the weirdness and since automatically replacing them, I've not had a problem.
I get the 0-ring for free at my O'Reilly's because they part isn't in the computer. I just get the fluid there.
