So you started hearing that squealing noise from the wipers, right? You think you need new wipers? Yep, they do not last forever and should regularly be replaced. But wait a bit:
- open the hood
- put the wiper arms normal to the windscreen (in simpler english: run them upwards)
- turn the ignition on that start the wipers on the II speed (the last stalk position)
- wait for about half a minute look at your wipers bouncing to the left, to the right, to the left, to the right... Hear that squeal? But the wipers do not even touch the windscreen now, right?
- put your hand onto the rod connector (I mean that rod where the wipers arm is bolted on to) - try one and then another - you'll hear the bad rod right by your hand. And it'll be hot (I mean really hot, like Missy Elliot if you're about the same age as your C900 or Ella Fitzgerald if you're about the same age as most these folk at this BB)
- see the shot below re the tools needed and the link to see what to do there
- I used my 1st Car Aid Kit - I mean I always have a syringe with some oil - that had some synthetic motor oil there. I don't think it's the best way to go since that rubber O-ring may not be compatible with synth oil, so you may want to go with mineral motor oil there, a common 10W30 should be fine.

P.S.
Did I say that you need some time to pull the arm out of the shaft?
