i have an '88 SPG as well that i havent driven in 2 yrs after taking it in to get tested to see if it needed a new battery or alternator (ran good , just needed to jump start it every day)...the mechanic said it was a battery ..put a new battery in it and now it wont fire, i had to tow it home from the mechanic i drove it to..ive had it idling for 5 seconds a few times..but it wont stay running ..the fuel pump comes on if i take the fuse out and direct wire it ...i hear a hissing sound near the pressure regulator and smell gas fumes pretty strong when the pump is on (near the regulator)..should i be hearing the pump with the ignition on?... or does it only come on as you start it?..if thats the case then im thinking its the regulator . but as it seems now my pump isnt coming on and my injector pulse is weak.When i still had it at the mechanic we thought maybe it was the ecu .. so i sent it in to get fixed and it was returned saying it was working fine..its my 3rd saab .. 2nd SPG .. i really miss driving it any help would be GREATLY appreciated ... thanx , steve painter , curtis,mi
