and I don't think I would have figured that out on my own , especially since I did notice that the contacts were quite fine and delicate , but failed to consider this as having anything to do with the problem . I did think of the possibility that one of the singular contact points in a plug that was bent could be generating excess heat , but then discarded that hypothesis because other singular points that were not bent were also somewhat scorched . I think I was distracted by the idea that the problem was originating elsewhere such as a ground point . but your points are valid and why would the problem need to originate at a regular size ground contact that had a little corrosion when there is a much smaller contact in the circuit that would start to generate excess heat first after losing some of its conductivity to corrosion . I have 2 plugs from a 93 c900 that have very good looking contacts and no scorching . I will probably use these with some contact cleaner , but I am somewhat concerned by the fact that the wires are thinner although they have the same color coding as mine . I found an 89 c900 that also had the thinner wires and no plug scorching , but that poor thing only had 99k on its odometer . where would you get an aftermarket plug that would fit this application ? thanks again .
