It took me hours to figure this out the first time I did this.
It is damn near impossible to remove the slave cylinder by itself. But it is very easy to take the slave, pressure plate, and clutch out as a unit. IIRC, Bently is not too clear about this.
Manually compress the spring-loaded sleeve on the slave a bit and slide a screw driver or putty knife between the slave and the chain housing, slip a screw drive between flywheel and the pressure plate and rotate it to clear the flywheel pins that fit into the wholes on the pressure plate, and the whole mess slides out easily.
Once you've lifted the assembly up a couple of inches, the slave will clear and you can lift it away. Re-installation is the reverse. All three comonents go in at once.
