sound like your cooling fans aren't working Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Sat, 11 Sep 2010 16:30:00 In Reply to: Temperature gauge reading VERY high. here's a test with the car running turn on the a/c both fans should be on, if not wait until 2 or 3 min. if the cooling fans have not turned on locate the power wire for each fan (just below the radiator. there is a connection point on each wire that lets the cooling fan plug into the motor harness. this connection goes bad.
if the fans do turn on grab hold of this connection while the fans are running and shake the wire (much like road vibration would) and see if they stop running.
personally i had to rewire both fans to the motor harness because of this issue.
your car has over heated don't drive it until the thermostat is replaced.
eeuroparts offer a 82degree thermostat and a 82degree fan switch, if you dont have the 82degree thermo switch get it.
by replacing the switch it will further insure that your old one isn't the problem.
