whale tail, if you have time.
(1) Is yours an "old model" or "new model" unit?
(2) Did yours end up with about 3/16" of open space on each of the ends, running fore/aft up the hatch? I think it has that, but it's hard to tell in the pictures on the NYSOC website, which is great, by the way.
(3) What have you used for a finish on the black part of your SAS unit?
I have an OEM unit on a Talladega red SPG, and am reasonably familiar with them. I am refinishing a '91 Beryl green SPG, and the "old model" SAS unit seems to fit nicely up to the hatch window and along the lower back line. I was concerned about the gap on each end, but the OEM unit seems to be sort of similar? We are thinking that truck bedliner black might work well to simulate the "rubber" black part. Our present plan is Beryl Green, bedliner black, and a couple coats of clear coat. Your thoughts/input/suggestions? Thanks, Vern
