As noted, I twisted it off by overtorquing. Remnant not propoerly seated, and am prepared to use a bolt extractor to remove the threaded stub to have another go at it, but I'm fearful of breaching the plug itself-- i.e., running the extractor in far enough to get traction might so weaken the stub that it fails catastrophically. I can live with a little seepage that requires occasional addition of coolant much easier than I could live without a drivable car. I also like the ability to drain coolant through that port, and so for both reasons would like to have a replacement part in hand before diving in.
