I agree. It was only out a little, and a slight rotation fixed it. The next problem was a little more irritation - the compressor bolt adjacent to the oil drain line needed one face filed completely off so that the flange could fit under it. Really nuts. I guess this flange is slimmer on later models.
Anyway - all good. The rear drain flange bolt is a nightmare, but a V8 distributor spanner got it. Wow - I imagine that there's a special tool of some kind at a Saab mechanic's disposal.
I've had to use an angled pressure pipe of a later model to accommodate the 16v outlet, so the car is looking even more "hybrid" than before.
I took it for a quick spin and immediately blew a fitting off the throttle body. PPSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'll look at it in the morning, but gee - the bigger compressor felt great for about 2 seconds. Fumbling around in the dark with no engine start was fun. I felt around and found the hose that blew off, and it looks like its metal base is broken. One mre item on the list.
Thanks to those who responded! :) You're a great bunch.
