Having gone back and reread your earlier posts, the answer seems obvious. You've stated that you are more comfortable and confident in the c900. As you have also had it longer, presumably more care has been applied to its needs. A tune-up to spiff it for the road would cost a fraction of the cost of a rental.
That said, things happen. Several years ago, while driving from Utah to Oregon, I pulled off into Winnemucca for gas. As I come to a stop on the off ramp the car died. Despite turning over, it just wouldn't start. I ended up taking a Greyhound back home and returning the next weekend to tow it home. The car ran fine right until it died. Turned out to be corroded wiring at the fuel pump. My indie said he'd never seen that before.
So, it all comes down to risk management. Are you feeling lucky?
