I didn't see any specific distance in the manual I have, and I don't have the special tool for pressing the seal in so I rigged it in and it probably is not in quite far enough. I didn't think that mattered because it looks like it wouldn't make a difference as the torque converter shaft looks like it is the same diameter for a range of where the seal would be sitting on it anyway. Guess that is not the case.
I will order a new seal tomorrow and wait to hear from you on that distance. Thanks so very much!
