My experience is that the most difficult part of the ceiling to KEEP attached is that bump-in at the back...
I've recently used 10 fishing hooks to 'hook' into the ceiling foam/cardboard material, and the non-sharp end of the hook is holding the fabric up...cutting the string of course.
Although it ain't perfect, I don't ever sit in the back, so F it. I cannot see it unless I try.
However I don't know if the original fabric is strong enough to handle this manipulation. My memory is that it tears just lookin' at it.
I've used ALL the crazy spray glues, cut little holes in to spray more when it separates, driven around for far too long just dealing with the limited view,
JoANN fabric, 40 bucks, at the scrap section with good glue and re-doing it is great...for a while.
I do not know of any good solution to getting it to stick to that 20_ year old disintegrated foam that is impossible to clean off.
