The 1985 model year was the first official year of the SPG, and as others have indicated, in the US, the car was Black with Tan seating and interior. In Canada, the 1985 SPG was Black with a Red interior. The rest of the world had cars designated as the "Aero" (basically the same as SPG) painted in Metallic Silver with red interiors. The use of the word Aero in North America was an existing trademark owned by GM and Saab was unable to market their car under that name. This was prior to General Motors ownership in Saab. The Aero was released in Europe in very late 1984.
Subsequently, 86-on "SPG" cars had the Edwardian Grey interior. Outside of North America, the Aero was available with variously colored interiors - and leather was not a commonly designated trim level unless the car was ordered as a T16 or "TurboS" model.
As for paint colors: in North America, the SPG is normally found in Black, Grey, Talladega Red and Beryl Green paint colors. There are a couple of Silver SPGs as well and many people have added the aerodynamic body kits to their cars to create "SPG clones." The Aero, in markets outside of North America, was available in Black, Grey, Silver, Talladega Red, Dark Green, Lemans (Dark) Blue, White and Ruby (Garnet) Red.
The Pearl White SPG had a red interior and a red dashboard.
