Shifter Shaft Bushing . . . Rusty Floors!! Posted by Nathan Pflaum [Email] (#304) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Nathan Pflaum) on Thu, 12 Apr 2012 19:56:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I need to replace my shifter shaft bushing and thought I could tackle it on a Sunday afternoon, boy was I wrong. I didn't realize I had to remove the seats, carpets and ignition to access my completely missing shifter shaft bushing! I have well over 300,000 miles and I am sure a few million shifts.
Anyways, I have known my under carriage was rusty for quite a long time now, I was just not ready for it. I have a grinder, welder and an '83 c900 parts chassis for replacement metal. I have attached a copy of pic from the passenger's side floorboard . . . it's much worse than I had expected.
On the bright side I have an almost new set of front viggen seats ready for install, but first the rust must go.
Wish me luck!!
