Saabers.
I really like the 900, pondering that it is my favorite model. I owned countless 900s from 1989. Yet, I only had one 900 that had a great air conditioning system.
I am almost convinced that Saab manufactured shitty a/c systems on the 900s.
I will like to take a census: How many 900 owners have working A/c systems on their 900s that are actually cold?
Secondly, there are only two small vents in the center of the dash, and two small outlets at the corners(the ducts are usually disconnected)and it makes me wonder if Saab could have somehow made the cool air come out of the top of the dash. In comparison, my brother's 9000 is strong and ice cold.
Sure, I am venting- but 90 percent of people are driving with windows up, and I am driving a cool classic with air conditioning 480- four windows down, 80 miles per hour.(joking) Actually, I have my windows three quarters up, and blow the fan at full speed. I find this cooler than having the windows down.
Ok, Saabers, I want to fix the A/C. what is step one/ two and three?
Apparently, the 900 has not been converted( no stickers or adapters revealing r134 conversion) I read that r134 is not as cold as r12: and leaks because of nor vapor barrier hoses. T
What should I do? Thanks.
Sweating 900 turbo driver.
