Yes, it is possible that the late 80s and early 90s alignment equipment wouldn't pick up the difference. You could see it as the body was pushed to the right so the left side tire would be prone to hit the SPG flare moreso than the right side. The ride height would be the same, but the axle would be pushed, therefore not centered within the body for the sport chassis.
I have a couple of printouts of various cars that we put on his machine. If you want to see one, just email me through the board. It might be late in the year or early next year before the sport chassis gets back on the rack. The engine/gearbox is coming out for an extensive engine bay restoration.
