clutch bleeding with mityvac tool (??)

finally back at my clutch hydraulic line job - hate when you have to leave something sitting!
so, while i am waiting for my new line to arrive, i need use of the car and figured i'd try a couple hose clamps where my lines separated, per someones suggestion. the smaller line fit right into the flex tube, so hopefully it will hold temporarily.
anyway, i'm pretty sure i need to bleed my line now, as the pedal goes all the way to the firewall with no leaks, but also no pedal pressure. i picked up some dot 3/4 fluid, and one of those mityvac bleeder tools that has a reservoir and hand pump vacuum and a guage. i have read so many different methods to doing this on here - not sure which way to go. can anyone tell me exactly how this thing works? i'm assuming one end goes onto the slave bleeder nipple, but my kit does not have anything that seals the fluid rez. off on the other end (and the instructions are not job specific.) have also read that these mityvac tools don't seal very well.
thx,
scott
