Sorry, but I just don't see it working as Dref suggests. If there were an easy way to get a clamp in there and two easy surfaces to clamp to it might work.
If you put anything on the taper let it be light solvent, and it will all press out when taper is sucked down. You don't want any help on future removals, you don't WANT it coming out easily. You want no interference with the friction of the taper, or with the permanence that taper insures to the connection. So, nothing on the taper, is my view.
As I suggest just run a standard nut on, while pressing tie rod firmly down in the taper with one hand, and tighten it up all the way, then remove the nut. Run your stock nut on then and the taper should hold fine and not spin till it's tight.
If you need to remove it again some day, either whack the eye on the spindle hard from the side with a big hammer, or if tie rod end is toast and coming off the car, wedge if off with a pickle fork. That will cut the boot but you won't care.
