I don't think many buy these cars now and not plan to do some work on them themselves... it's just not that cost effective because they are old cars. A Honda or Toyota tech is probably not going to be helpful and could very easily do a lot of harm. You either want a Saab specialist, or a general automotive mechanic who is very adaptable, open minded, thorough, and skilled (a bonus would be if they primarily work on European cars: Volvos, Mercs, BMW etc). I have dealt with both types and have had good results with both, but my Saab indy knows more tricks for these cars and is faster.
If you are serious about c900 ownership, it is highly advised to purchase a bentley manual. These cars are quite DIY friendly, and if you are able to, you'll have a better shot of making it "right" up front, so the car is reliable and enjoyable.
