Be that as it may, there is zero oil-related reason for that to happen unless you also switched weights (and even that's iffy) or had significant engine oil deposits before the switch (that *maybe* higher quality additives in the synthetic washed away). Oil is oil. Synthetic isn't "more slippery" than dinosaur oil, nor are the molecules smaller (though they are more uniform), nor do they shrink seals like synthetics of 50 years ago. That goes double for modern Mobil 1, which isn't even a true synthetic to start with.
The internet is littered with anecdotal stories about synthetic oil "causing leaks" in new and/or young motors, and there's about zero science to back it up. IMHO, if synthetic oil is leaking from your young motor, you have demonstrable problems that a lower quality oil was masking. YMMV, of course.
