Odd brake/headlight problems Posted by Pyrrhic [Email] (#1124) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Pyrrhic) on Wed, 25 Sep 2013 23:44:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The car is a 1987 Saab 900i 3 door hatch, Euro market.
A few days ago I noticed my brake lights were dim. I thought it was a ground problem and have been searching for the culprit.
Today I found a new problem that might be related: when the car is turned off and headlight switch is also off, if I press on the brake pedal my parking lights go on on the front headlights with the brake lights too. If the headlight switch is ON and I hit the brakes then my headlights go on with the brake lights.
Could this be a problem with the headlight selector switch? Perhaps something in the fuse box? Do the wires for the brake lights and headlights, seemingly isolated from each other, cross elsewhere in the car?
