Firstly, I'm a big lurker on this site, but first time poster. The collective wisdom of the group has helped me fix a lot of things on my 92 non-turbo convertible and keep it going strong.
Quick question here: My rear suspension is really rusty, the paint is just peeing off the torque arm, the panhard rod, the spring link (the big piece that the spring sits on), the axle itself, and all other bits. Same story with the trailer hitch and some other small, bolt on pieces under the trunk. The rest of the car has little to no rust, including the underbody all around the suspension.
I have the feeling I should strip it all out and go get it sandblasted and powder coated. Do you guys think that is overkill? Should I even worry about it? I had an old BMW rust away on me and I don't want to let this happen to my Saab.
