The Bosal cat is a good one (i've only run bosal full exhausts for 12+ years) and I'd have no worries if you run it without a saab heat shield. ..keep the new one for the summer car.
I put the annoying bolt in 'backwards' so you can not have as many issues next time (the time when you really don't have a new heat shield)..> since you have the interior off, jjust throw in some fire-blanket stuff between the wire harness and the floor...
but realize, as i did, that when you put that absorbant fire retardant shit in your floor, you'll encounter a sunroof leak and a soak it, rotting your floorbaords, and then you'll be fuct in the next winter.
