On moderate to harder acceleration, if Turbo dial moves swiftly through orange zone, engine stutters and turbo backs off. I am wondering whether this is somehow an engine management system fault ( turbo is getting wrong signals and is cutting in and out ) or whether it is problem with the turbo or engine itself.
If I was driving any of the cars I first owned ( non-turbo and no fuel injection ) and didn't know any better I would say it feels much like fuel starvation or a misfiring would feel like but given that it seems to come in when more turbo boost is being called for I am assuming it is turbo related. Car will be getting serviced next week but was wondering if this is something which is easily diagnosed so can point shop in right direction.
