For those of you who have been following this issue...I had a new theory that when I tied up the carpet and pad onto the passengers side seat (to do a drivers side floor replacement) a significant amount of fine dust, some sand, ect was deposited on (in?) and around the ignition key slot. So I thought I'd gummed things up inside the key slot.

Before I did the hot water thing or other, I thought I would remove the ignition key connections (since I had the console out they were easy to get to) on top of the ignition. I think there were 6 or 8 of them. I took 2 off (a whitish and double red) and the connections were so tight and clean copper that I didn't bother with the rest. Anyway, I thought I would start and try the turn signals/wipers ect. and they all suddenly worked! So, I don't remember who posted it (Justin?) but thanks a ton for the "fix" of removing and reconnecting those connections. I didn't do that initially because that area was so clean and the connections seemed so tight. Let's hope it stays this way! Though it could have been a coincidence and I cleared out the fine debris in the bits that the key turns just by working the key enough times. Either way, huge sigh of relief -- for now -- that I don't have to pull the knee bolster or the dash itself to get at the A-pillar grounds especially in this driving snow and impending temp plunge.

PS, I checked voltage on the battery w/ car running. It's now its normal 14+ instead of yesterday's 12.5. So somehow the key thing effected the charging system too. The battery light was on full time yesterday too...now all lights and backlights are "normal".
